Description:

Ethoxy or methoxyl silane functionalized polyethylene glycol, silane PEG (PEG-Si) is a surface reactive PEG derivative that can be used to modify glass, silica and other surfaces via the reaction between hydroxyl group and ethoxyl/methoxyl silane. Pegylation can greatly suppress the non-specific binding of charged molecules to the modified surfaces. And they have wide applications for medica device, biomems or biocompatible material development.

Storage Conditions:

  • Store at -20 0C, desiccated. Silane PEG tends to hydrolyze from moisture. Avoid frequent thaw and frozen.

Reaction Procedures:

Generally, silane PEG is first dissolved in a mixture of ethanol/water solution, then allow the solution to contact with oxidized glass or silica surface for 30 min to 2 hours. Under this condition, silane PEG should bind to the material covalently.

Materials Required:

  • Pegylation solution: Ethanol/water (w/w, 95%/5%);
  • Silane PEG stock solution, 10~50 mg/mL in pegylation solution, prepare in fresh.
  • Washing solution: Distilled water.

Reaction Steps:

1. Dissolve targeted materials in Pegylation buffer.

2. Add silane PEG stock solution to the targeted conjugation materials with the final concentration keep at least 10 mg/mL. 10~50 molar excess of silane PEG needed for optimal conjugation;

3. Allow mixture agitates at room temperature for 30 min at room temperature or 2 hours at 4 -20 0C.

4. Wash out unreacted materials either by distilled water.

NHS-dithio-PEG-FITC:

NHS-SS-PEG- Fluorescein is one of cleavable reactive fluorescent PEG dyes offered by Nanocs. FITC (Fluorescein) is a bright green fluorescent dye with exication/emission wavelength at 495/515 nm. NHS (succinimidyl ester) group can react with primary amine group at alkaline pH with high efficiency. Reaction between NHS and amine allows conjugation of FITC dye to proteins, antibodies, peptides, nuleic acids and other materials quickly and easily. Dithio bond (-SS-) between NHS and PEG fluorescein can be cleaved by dithiol reducing reagent such as DTT or TCEP, thus conjugated fluorescein dye can be released subsequently through reduction. PEG linker between NHS and fluorescein offers better water solubility, less steric hindrance and enhanced stability.

ITO (Inidum Tin Oxide) and FTO (fluorine doped tin oxide) Coated PET Plastic Film

ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) and FTO coated PET plastic film provided from Nanocs were made by coating ITO or FTO to one side of PET film. These ITO coated plastic film comes with different surface resistivity from 30 ohm/sq to 100 ohm/sq, with thickness around 0.17 mm. ITO coated PET film has been used in LCD/OLED devices and many other devices requiring high electrical conductivity and good optical transmission. Our ITO coated PET has excellent surface roughness around +-5 nm. Thickness of our ITO coating ranges from 50 nm to 700 nm depends on their surface resistivity. Optical transmission of these ITO coated plastic film is over 85% in the visible range.
